State Advocacy

All members of PMAWM Members also belong to the Property Management Association of Michigan (PMAM) and the National Apartment Association (NAA).  

The Legislative Committees work year round, not just during the legislative session, to monitor pending issues that would have a negative effect on the rental housing industry in Michigan. In conjunction with our outside consultants from Kelley Cawthorne, our staff and committees work to insure that our best interests are being considered when legislation is introduced.

There are numerous threats each year at the state and local level that would make the construction and/or management of apartment communities more difficult, and through long standing relationships with many legislators on both sides of the aisle we are able to convey to them the damage that could be done to an industry whose primary purpose is to provide quality apartment homes to families in Michigan.
