Description: Full-time general accountant position in Grand Rapids. Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports and/or entries.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts or documenting business transactions.
Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize and interpret financial information for the organization.
Determines proper handling of financial transactions and approves transactions within designated limits.
Distributes expenditures, encumbrances, receipts, and receivables according to schedules.
Completes monthly accounting reports due to outside agencies.
Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.
Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
Coordinates with CFO on the implementation of accounting systems and accounting control procedures.
Makes recommendations regarding the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures.
Completes bank reconciliations.
Monitors vendor statements.
Assists with preparation of annual audit workpapers.
Qualifications: Candidates will need excellent technological, problem solving and communication skills. Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required. Experience with non-profits, real estate, affordable housing and Yardi preferred.

Maintains an average closing ratio of 30% or higher from total traffic count.
Obtains 50% of signed leased renewals from Residents to renew their Lease at least 50 days prior to the Residents Lease expiration date. Commitment will be evaluated based on completed Lease Expiration Checklists.
Qualifications: JOB QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent GED.
Minimum of six months prior customer service experience.
Completion of one approved fair housing seminar within one year, and every two years thereafter.

Pay Range: COMPENSATION

Maintains and repairs physical structures of apartment buildings and maintains grounds by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities.

- Performs work orders in a safe and timely manner, which may include, in order of priority, emergency, on-call, make-ready, preventative, inspection, routine or resident request repairs.
- Inspects property for improvements and repairs and review the supervisor; immediately reporting unsafe conditions.
- Maintains control for inventory and utilization of maintenance materials and supplies, operate and perform scheduled maintenance properly on all equipment.
- Responsible for keeping work area and tools clean and in order at all times.
- Assists in keeping property free of debris and rubbish at all times.
- Knows location and access to electric, gas, water, and all property shut-offs, meters, fire systems, and sewer clean outs.
- Shovels snow, removes ice, and applies ice melt to walks and driveways as conditions exist. Be immediately available in the event of snow.
- Assist Property Management or other staff and contractors when requested.
- Responsible for the security of the property at all times. Keeping all keys to the property in possession as appropriate, and refusing to give any unauthorized person "master" keys or access. Master keys are never permitted to be given to contractors, vendors, or other persons not employed by Dwelling Place.
- Other duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities

On-call work required.
Qualifications: Qualifications
Skilled in general home maintenance, plumbing, appliance repair, general electrical work, and one or more of the following areas: pool maintenance, landscaping and irrigation, and/or pest control.
Minimum of two years apartment maintenance or related field maintenance experience.
Type I & II or Universal refrigerant certification or ability to obtain this certification within six months.

Primary Purpose
